I've Been Raising Her in the Wrong Country

Kiki has so completely assimilated into life here that I feel like I've done her a disservice by not bringing her here sooner.  I've mentioned before that she loves the food, the people, the weather, the hustle of the city, and the daily swims. 

Now, she has embraced the national past-time: Cockfighting.

She's known about the "Fighting Roosters" for some time, since in more rural areas we have seen them for sale on the side of the road, but last night we happened to see a cockfight on TV.  (Yes, it's legal here.  Yes, it's televised here.  Yes, it was 7:00 at night.)  In an instant she was sucked in to the excitement of it all.  She was cheering and rooting for "the one with the yellow head," and when Kate tried to change the channel back to "Freaky Friday" tears were shed.

Tonight she said, "The chicken fights are like Angry Birds MADE REAL."
