We have been talking about getting a new dog for many months now, but the time hadn't seemed right.
After my running friends had a legitimate scare on the trail system near our house we decided that it was time to get a dog for me to run with. All the pieces fell into place and the very morning we said, "It's time," Bruce found this little cutie on KSL. We kept it a secret from the girls, and when Bruce pulled up, I just said, "I think your dad has a surprise for you in the car." They were so shocked that we ACTUALLY HAD A PUPPY that they didn't even act excited.
We have named him LaBoeuf ("LaBeef") after a character in the book/movie "True Grit." He is 12 weeks old now and is a smart boy. He is settling into his crate every night and is getting used to his leash. He is learning a few commands, mainly "NO!" and "DROP IT!" but he gets lots of cuddles and "Good Boy"s too.

| "Let me get this straight...when you toilet train you go in the toilet, when you potty train you go in the potty, so when you house train you go in the house, right? Guys, why are you yelling at me again?" |
 |
| "Throw pillows make me SO. ANGRY." |
 |
| "The only thing that makes me angrier is this lamb." |
 |
| "When I feel like eating panties I like them as dirty as possible." |
 |
The girls are very unsettled by LaBoeuf's penis...there's not a lot of boys in our lives so this is very foreign. They call it his "lipstick" and when he sleeps like this Kiki will close his legs and said, "You need to keep that to yourself."
He was trying to hump Kate and she thought he wanted a "piggy back ride."
It's going to be hard to keep these two innocent with the new male in the house. |
We are happy to have our new little "baby" and hope he is ready to run by spring!
