Mother's Day at the Cabin

We spent Mother's Day weekend at the West/Barratt ranch. It was 48 hours of fun, hikes, and exploring.  (The pictures are a little out of order because I took some with my camera and some with my phone. )

Maybe this is the happiest dog in the world.

Hiking down to Upper Calf Creek Falls.

Just above the waterfall.

This looks like a fun swimming hole until you realize the end of it is an 80 foot waterfall.
We hiked an additional 50 feet because we aren't adrenaline junkies.
Also, my 6 year old and my dog are equally unpredictable.

A mini waterfall into our swimming hole.

Find the hidden Doberman.

After a picnic lunch in Oak Creek, and after our dog took a flying leap out of the loft, we went into Capitol Reef.

The natural order of things.

We climbed to the top of Popcorn Rock.

Mother's Day breakfast at our favorite stop: Country Café in Loa, Utah.  Our waitress remembered us from the last time we were there and thought the girls seemed really grown up.

Baby Boeuf thinks he is a lap dog.  Better my lap though...

...than this one.

Another shot at Upper Calf Creek Falls.

Our swimming spot.

We made the rounds to our moms on Sunday night...No pictures of my mom or fake moms, but I sure did get some dog pictures.
Oh Rosie, you are the prettiest girl I ever did see.

Max and Ben.

All in all, it was a great Mother's Day.

Hey Becca,
I just spent some time catching up on your blog--your kids are growing!
You look fab (as always--I need some of your style) and your trips gave me a serious hankering to be out west.
I'm coming in July, it would be great to see the Barratt's.

xoxo
