Home Improvements

We started some home improvements eight or ten weeks ago, and I had grand designs to post "befores" and "afters," but the fact of the matter is, we are still "during."  So here's a little progress report.  Jack ripped out our entry closet so we could open up the entryway and just have a railing.
This was an awesome sight.  The most fun part of a home improvement project is the very beginning and the very ending.

I've also been repainting- the blue is going on covering the brown.
I've recruited help in sewing some accessories and when I get around to doing that (next year or maybe the one after that) I'll post pictures of the finished room.

You know you've been stressed out when you find the spray paint in the spice cupboard.

When you start these projects you have to psychologically prepare yourself to live under tarps for a time.  This was the state of our dining room for almost a month.

No one comes out of these situations unscathed.

These are the new benches Jack built me for the bar.

I'm starting to accessorize a little- this is all art the girls made.

And, while I catch up on some things, I fall behind on others.
At least this was all clean and folded.
It's going to be a couple of months before we are really done around here- we will be sprucing up our exterior, adding cabinets in the kitchen, tiling our fireplace, and maybe moving Kate's room downstairs.  I'm tired.
