Early August

What's not to love about summer? You never know what any given day might hold.
We got to meet Papa Doug's new puppy.  His name is Maynard Dixon and we love his fluffy cuteness.

Kiki found a "stray" cat in the yard and begged for us to keep it.
I love Beefy's expression in this picture.
I think his feelings on the subject are obvious.

I ran a 15 mile trail race in Park City.  The night before we went to a rock climbing competition.  If the climber was skilled enough to make it to the very top of the climbing wall, they were rewarded with a 50 foot jump into a swimming pool.

Rachael and I before the race.  We are very similar runners- she is faster going down and I'm a little faster on the climbs so we make a good team.  It was technically a training run for the Big Cottonwood Marathon I'm running on Sept 14, but it was much more enjoyable than training runs typically are.

We were definitely among the more casual runners- any time you feel okay about stopping entirely for a picture it's pretty obvious you aren't going out for a PR.

Official after photo- me, Alexis, Brennan, and Rachael.

These two.  They are like two peas in a pod.  I think they had been in this position for close to an hour watching cartoons.

I purchased a new bumper sticker for my car.
I actually bought two, and we are thinking the second would look nice on our front door.

Bruce and I recently went to dinner with my friend Stacie and her husband.  We have known each other since seventh grade!

Daisy keeps things very exciting at meal time.  She eats live crickets at the rate of 70-100 per week.  They are 10 cents each- I calculate she (weighing in at a whopping 11 grams) costs more to feed than our 80 pound Doberman.
