Memorial Day Weekend

We spent the holiday weekend in Pocatello with the Shelton's. We tossed around the idea of "fancier" plans in exotic locales, but frankly, we dig my sister and her family and my kids always have a great time.

We went to Lava Hot Springs on Saturday night: the kids had a great time and were repeatedly scolded by a ninety year old fully clothed lifeguard for excessive splashing.

Look at those thighs on Baby Whitney!
I wish that was cute on grown-ups.

Sunday was still a little chilly, but the kids played outside until they collapsed.

On Monday, Liza and I went for a little 6-mile hill run. Good times.
Then, the local ward put on a really good Memorial Day breakfast so we chowed down there.

Dave and Bruce went on a 33-mile bike ride. Those Shelton's don't do things halfway where athletics are involved.
Since the men were out on a jaunt, that left Liza and I to man the barbecue.

Because if Memorial Day goes by and you didn't barbecue something, you are pretty much a communist.
