| "This is a picture of me and you. It looks like you have a beard but really it's your brown hair underneath." |
Kiki is such a curious kid and school is certainly fueling her big imagination. Here are things she has asked me in the last few days:
"How high would I have to climb to fly on the way down?"
"Which one of these is your sharpest knife?"
"Could a person's name be 'Hot Dog Water?'"
"Can you tell me about rocks and fire and lava?" (These were the first words she spoke when she woke this morning.)
She did come home a little upset last week. "It's not fair!" she said. "The girl who sits next to me CAN. READ." I tried to explain about the big choice we had to make as a family last year to live in the Philippines, and that we had to give certain things up to do it (like preschool), and blah blah blah, and pretty soon her eyes just glazed over and I could tell her attention was waning. So I said, "You go to school and ask that girl if she's ever been to the Philippines. Like you have. You ask her if she has ever pet a tiger or rode an elephant. Like you have. You ask that girl if she know all the words to 'Call Me Maybe.' Like yo....Never mind about that last one, but you be sure to mention the Philippines and the tigers and the elephants."
