In August...

Burke and Baby Boeuf had their 39th and 2nd birthdays.

First day of school!
First day of school!
Kate (5th)
Maggie (2nd)

I did some canning.  This was one day and a nice variety.
Pickled beans, jalapenos, pears, tomatoes, and grapes.

Sunday is Gun Day.

Maggie and I chose this book as our "read aloud."
She cried with joy when Billy picked up the puppies.  She kept saying things like, "I think I know how this book ends.  They all get old and are grandpas together." Or, "Maybe we can finish this book on my birthday!" As tempted as I was to slam the book shut a couple of chapters early and say, "...and they all lived happily ever after!", I didn't.  We read it to the bitter tearful end.
There was so much crying.  Crying and more crying.  Then we cried a little more.
Now, though, she says this is her favorite book of all time.

He closely supervises my driving.
Don't worry, we were stopped when I took this.
