Guilt.

It's really a shame. Kate had three years of one on one time with Bruce and I, and she doesn't remember it. Kiki won't remember having any one on one time, mainly because she won't get much. I feel guilty about both.

Kiki did get Bruce and I all to herself the other night. Bruce and I had a date night planned, and Paige was taking the girls to a movie. Kiki, however, had a total meltdown due to an extremely late nap, and Bruce and I decided it would be just as easy to take her with us, along with our friends Chris and Anne, to dinner. Romantic. She was reasonably behaved, and even ordered her own "butter noodle peez."

After dinner we went to the mall, let her ride the escalator a few times, and then Kiki perched in this little chair. She thought it was awesome. "Picture! Picture me!" she said. Of course I didn't have a camera. For Kate, a camera was on hand at all times- digital and film (because film has a certain quality that can not be duplicated by a digital camera. At least that's what I told myself.). Finally, in desperation, I pulled out my Blackberry (which of course has NO CAMERA) and "took her picture." I felt like such a jerk standing there looking at the screen saver on my phone with what I hoped was an extremely pleased looking expression saying, "Oh, man, that's a good one, Kiki." Of course inside I was praying, "Please, please don't ask to see it." Take my word for it, though, she looked cute as all get out.

On a different topic...
Don't you think if my kid:
-Comes to me and says, "Change Me."
-Hands me a diaper and wipes.
-Wipes her own hind end.
-Says, "Butt hurts. Need cream."
-Then puts the cream on herself.
-Puts on her own clean diaper.

SHOULDN'T SHE BE POTTY TRAINED??????
