Girl Vs. Food

I started out Thanksgiving Day at a 5k with my cute cousins, Alisa and Jamie. It was so cold out that I could only think swear words in my mind.

We ate dinner with Jack and Kay. They were hard at work when we arrived. The kids colored Thanksgiving placemats and complained that we were starving them. Bruce and Dave were in charge of child wrangling while Liza and I made pies and sides. They did an admirable job. Me and Liza. In honor of the holiday, I rechristened my fauxhawk "The Faux-Waddle."

Bruce tried to play a little joke on Kiki. He gave her the turkey leg to eat thinking she would be intimidated by the task, but instead she replied, "You'll need to cut it up for me." Then she commenced eating.

After dinner, we went to see my mom, George, and my Grandma, along with my bonus sibs. Grandma, as I have mentioned, is suffering from Alzheimer's. She told me that my mom "didn't have very much food," told my mom that her cherry pie was "gross," told Liza that her daughter's teeth were terrible, and mentioned to my bonus sis that she had a lot of gray hair (which she doesn't). Happy Thanksgiving!

Love the pic at the top. At least go-go is consistent with speaking her mind.

If I ever need to smile, I know your blog will do it! Looks like a fun Thanksgiving at Kay's! Love your gray sweater, by the way! And I am impressed you braved the bitter cold for the family 5K. It was 73 degrees for our 5K so not quite the same level of dedication and sacrifice was required!

It was so much fun to see you on Turkey day. Hard to believe that was two + weeks ago. I ran in a 50-mile relay last week in St. G. I think the Bonus Sisters need to sign up for one. It was a blast!
