Those last few days at home were extremely busy but very fun. I continued to follow my "do a little every day" strategy, and was happy that we had free time in the last few days to spend with family and friends instead of being totally overwhelmed by last minute packing. We went to the USU/BYU game with Janet and Weston.
It was a beautiful night and the view was great.
Well, it was fun while it lasted. Darn Cougars rallied in the last few seconds and won.
I knew that the last few days would be hard, but I was surprised at how emotional I was saying good-bye to my friends and family. I know we are coming back, but that logic wasn't very comforting to me. It was still hard to part. We definitely felt the love and support of all of our dear ones in our last days at home, and we were really grateful for that.
This man needs to pick up his d*** phone when it says "unavailable" because I have tried to call him twice. But we love you, Jack. We just want you to know we made it.
This is what six months' worth of lice treatments looks like.
We made it to Portland without any problem. Spirits were still high.
I found myself a new boyfriend. Kiki does not approve.
The girls were excited about eating dinner AND breakfast on the plane, until they saw it. Shrimp were involved and they were NOT. HAPPY.
Thankfully, the girls really did a great job on the flights. The leg to Tokyo was the longest at 10 hours or so, but they watched movies and napped and played with their toys. By the time we were on the last leg to Manila, we were all so exhausted we just slept the whole time.
First pic in Manila.
We are staying in a hotel for the first two days so we can make sure our apartment is situated before moving in. We have a "deluxe" room which means the 4 of us slept in two twin beds last night. It was cozy.
"This is a Japanese breakfast," Kiki said. Look close: her Japanese breakfast consisted of scrambled eggs with ketchup, bacon, crackers, and a jelly doughnut.
Our hotel serves gelato at breakfast!
Kiki ate her ice cream and told me she wasn't nervous about living here anymore.
These are at our hotel.
I'm surprised by the humidity- Kiki's hair has undergone an amazing transition from chlorine damaged straw head to soft as silk. We are happy to have arrived safely: we are tired and feeling the jet lag, but are excited to see our new apartment today and start to get settled.

So happy you made it safe! Love that you are blogging about it already!
I've thought about you so often for the past week. Praying that everything goes smoothly on your travels. The hotel looks like a dream come true (other than the bed situation)! Can't wait to hear more about this adventure. Love to you all!!
