Snow? I Still Had Flip-Flops Out.

The arrival of cold weather has necessitated indoor amusements.
Kate's school had "Crazy Hair Day."
Kate went extreme...with 2 tidy pigtails.
"But, Mom," she said, "usually I just wear a barrette."
She was willing to help Kiki out with some crazy hair.

Bruce led some pumpkin carving. He insisted Kate scoop her own "guts" out.
She was not thrilled, but sucked it up anyway.

Kiki has earned the nickname "Hugh Hefner," because she loves to wear two piece pajamas, but refuses to button the tops.
Like that gut? She gets it from me.

First snow:

It seems unseasonably cold, unreasonably early. Although I do love a cute cardigan as much as the next gal (or metrosexual), the promise of lovely layers has done little to console me for the loss of my ever-present bare feet.

I took the girls to the ward Halloween Party.
"Kiki, put down your blanket so I can take your picture."

"Can you show me a smile?" (Patience beginning to wear thin...)

"Kiki, for the love of all that is holy, put the costume down for a picture!"

And yes, she did refuse to wear anything under the candy corn costume. Never mind that we were headed out to the ward party. Never mind that it was snowing out. Bruce finally convinced her that maybe some shorts would be okay, and she came out wearing a pair of tight, white, knit shorts that were so minuscule that there was no appreciable difference between the shorts and the plain old diaper she was wearing.

Glad one of my kids knows how to turn on the smiles for the camera.

I love Kates face in the picture of her digging out the pumpkin. It doesn't get any better than that

Happy Halloween! Your pictures say it all. You truly could become a family photo journalist.

Hugh Hefner.

Exactly.

Now there's something you can take to the bank.
