My Wii Fit Age Qualifies Me for a Senior Discount

Busy, Busy, Busy...
Here's what's been going on around here...

This is Kate- notice the hand gesture. It's become quite typical for Kate when feeling shy to pull her hand up like so:

The hand motions are frequently accompanied by weird little noises.

No, she doesn't have Tourette's.

Here's the Bruce with our new wall: We've had a weed patch in our front yard since we moved in (6 years ago). Bruce conceded that if he really had time for a project of this magnitude he probably would have got to it by now, so we hired our trusty friend Jorge to start the job. The retaining wall is in, and it's looking good.

Another picture of Kate. Summer seems to agree with her.
We enjoyed a delicious dinner with Jack and Kay last night, and afterwards decided to burn off a few calories on Kay's new Wii. Jack and Kay couldn't help bragging about how their Wii ages were less than their real ages. I was pretty confident that my Wii age would be quite low- I work out a lot. As it turns out, my balance is TERRIBLE. And my Wii age was...46. (It just adds to my age trauma of late.) Kay and I are the same "age." I always knew Jack wanted to date someone the same age as his daughter, and now he got his wish. And to top it off, the Wii snidely asked, "Do you frequently trip when you walk?" Wii, it's none of your damn business.

Another huge project of late were the wedding flowers for my next-door neighbor. Thank goodness for corsage help at the eleventh hour from my friend Michelle and her daughters or I never would have made it. Here's the results: bouquet

centerpiece

bout

Bride and bouquet

cake

Centerpieces

...and the complete chaos I was working in. And that's not even the half of it.
I think my clients were happy with the results. It was a beautiful and fun reception. As Bruce and I were eating at the reception, the little kid across from us started puking his guts out. I tried to lessen the parents' embarassment by saying, "There's always one at every party..." They were not amused by me at all.

Kiki has spent the last 10 days in a swimsuit. She has worn her bikini to Walmart, 2 different banks, Kate's preschool, and the mall, to name a few. She gets a lot of attention in her get-up, and not all of it positive. I occasionally feel the harsh glare of judgement, but really- who cares? She looks awesome to me, and there were no screaming fits to get her out the door.
Kate said to Bruce : "Daddy, you don't need sunscreen if your legs are hairy."

Don't beat yourself up for the Wii Fit age. If you'll recall at Cheryl's on Christmas Day, I was well into my 60s. Love the flowers! You need to post a photo of Kiki and her bikini so that your online friends can have equal opportunity judgement of you!

i'm eating a vanilla strawberry cupcake from 25 main and thinking of you. if it makes you feel any better, i trip often. often enough to sprain my ankle in the airport on the way to freakin' paris. i had to be wheelchaired to the plane in SLC and then from the plane in paris. i even borrowed crutches from the hotel. i swear i'll resurrect my blog and post pictures this week. love and miss you!

p.s. Bronco and Jody were bragging about your DELICOUS cake the other night. since i don't feel like baking in this hellish desert heat, i opted for a cupcake in an attempt to relive the piece of yours they each ate without me. obviously, i was feeling left out.

p.p.s. kiki will thank you later for letting her live in her bikini. i did the same thing as a kid. i wish i felt as uninhibited now. . .well, may be i don't. it'd be bad for all ;).

Beautiful flowers!!! You should have called, I would have helped! As soon as these rugrats get in school we're going to open our own shop aren't we? I love that Kiki can get away with the bikini in public...at least she's not 16 and doing it!

The flowers are AWESOME! I hope they appreciated how much work and effort it took! I hope they told you they appreciated it! Will you do the flowers at my funeral? I'll make sure to write it in with the rest of my wishes.
The retaining was is wonderful. I bet you are so happy to cross that project off of your to do list.
Rebecca has been spending the last two weeks in her swimming suit too. Was winter too long?
Rachael has taken to the strange noises and random jerky hand jesturs also. When you figure out why Kate is doing that will you let me know. Rachael has been doing a very annoying high pitched bark...AHHHHH!
Thurmon and Maria moved into some townhouses in Lehi. I think they will regret that. I know I would. Thanks for all your help in locating possibilities for them! YOu are a great friend.
