Random Thoughts

The thing about being married to a "tech guy" is that one can casually mention in a blog post that it would be nice to have a qwert keyboard, and the next thing you know your husband mentions that he has a spare FUNCTIONING Blackberry just laying around, and by the end of the day you've got yourself a Blackberry that you can't really work. This happened to me, by the way, if my scattered pronoun usage threw you off. But I'm really going to try to embrace the Blackberry and try to use at least 10 or 20 percent of its functions.

You know the "Friends" episode where the girls and guys play a Jeopardy game trying to win the big apartment? Ross asks, "What's Rachel's favorite movie?" and they shout out the answer, and then Ross asks, "What's Rachel's REAL favorite movie?" and the answer is, "Weekend at Bernie's?" Well, I identify with Rachel. If you were to ask me my favorite movie, I'd probably say something intellectual and moving and sad, like Shawshank Redemption, House of Sand and Fog, or Million Dollar Baby, or something like that, but my REAL favorite movies are as follow:
1. Legally Blonde
2. Bring it On
3. Dirty Dancing
If any of these 3 movies happen to be on TV, I will not miss them. I can't turn away; I will sit through commercials, and I know most of the dialogue: "Has anyone seen my beige irridescent lipstick?" "Look around Torrance, we ARE in Hades!" "I need a Jackie, not a Marilyn." "I hurt my family...you lost your job anyway...I did it all for NOTHING!"
This was on my mind because Dirty Dancing was on TV last night and I made Kate watch it with me while I waited for American Idol to get a little ahead on the DVR.

Which bring me to my next topic: American Idol, of course. I'm totally shocked that Kris won, but frankly I can see why. I think Adam is mighty talented, but there is no way I could listen to his vocal gymnastics for an entire 60 minute album. It's just too much. And since I'm on the subject of AI, here's a couple of other thoughts I had:
"Why is Cyndi Lauper wearing Mummy pants?"
"Man, Kara looks hot in that bikini."
"Does Simon remove the top 6 buttons from his shirts?"
And, the end of AI marks the beginning of my two favorite summer shows: So You Think You Can Dance, and Wipeout.

We went to the petting zoo with my friend Stephanie and her two girls today.

My mom loves, yes, loves Stephanie's two little girls. She goes on and on about how beautiful she thinks they are, and no, she doesn't go on to qualify her remarks by saying, "Of course, they are no more beautiful than my own grandchildren..."
So, here's Kiki plain and tall being eclipsed by the beauty of the world's most exquisite children.

Funny!! Weston has been trying to convince me to get a blackberry! You get it all figured out and then teach me K!!!! Yes, love legally blonde and bring it on. Dirty dancing has been too long so I FOR SURE need to catch that next time it's on!! As far as AI, I was FLOORED when Kara came out and sang. If the song writing gig ever gets old seems like she has other very viable career options!! We'll have to chat so you think you can dance. I discovered that last season and LOVE it!!! I know for a fact that Kate and Kiki are much nicer than Ally and I think that's more important anyway!!! The blue eyes with the dark hair is a killer combination though!! Hey, there is always colored contacts!!!! Sorry about the petty zoo. Kyle got a fever late last night. He hasn't thrown up though. I hope your girls don't get it. Sorry if I exposed them!!!!

Blackberry?!? When my phone died (well, I actually killed it) the guy tried to talk me into a Blackberry. I told him I was really looking for the equivilent of those gag remotes that have two buttons OFF/ON. He laughed pretty hard and then rolled his eyes when I said I was serious.
We have those exact pictures of our girls on those exact ponies. We milked the cow instead of riding it, though. The girls want to go back next month when we come to visit. Do you think your girls would be up for another pony ride?

Congrats on the crackberry. It's a love hate relationship for me. I'm sure I'd love it more if I treated myself to it, but since it's the company's I hate the thing except when it comes in handy for personal reasons. Funny, I have real favorite movies too. Mine include "Never Been Kissed," "Everlasting," "Home Fries", etc. Notice a theme? I wouldn't say DBM is my favorite actress, but obviously there's something I like about the girl. Good luck with your races. I love that goal! I should set one myself for the summer. It sounds just like the kind of elevating goal I need. Hope to see you soon!
