The Quilting Bee

I almost forgot this: Last night was a quilting night for homemaking. Since I'm "in charge" I had to run around picking up sewing machines and quilt frames for the event. At the first house, the kind, well-meaning, and extremely crafty lady said, "Now, which parts of the quilt frame do you need?" Silence, as in crickets. Me: "All of them?" Now fortunately, Claudia thought it was kind of funny that I was so ignorant. As we were getting all the pieces together, she said, "Well, next time you should bring your mom to help you with this kind of stuff." I about choked, and said, "Claudia, she's even worse than I am." Any of you who know Merrilee know that's the truth. Merrilee tried to teach me to cross stitch once, and it is absolutely etched into my memory as a terrible experience. This was by no fault of her own- we both must lack the "crafty, sew-y" gene.
