This and That

I made the best chocolate chip cookies last night. They were made with whole wheat pastry flour and the result was a chewy little slice of heaven. For those that are curious, go to Allrecipes.com and search "Whole Wheat Chocolate Chip Cookies."
I have been so happy with the warmer weather!! I actually walked Kate to and from pre-school today, and Kiki seemed quite happy to be in her stroller feeling the sunshine on her face. I know it won't last forever, but it is an awesome reprieve from this long, long winter.
I have been struggling and struggling with these last few pounds I have wanted to lose. (See previous paragraphs...) I was going to call it baby weight, but I think that since Kiki is 13 months old I can't use that as an excuse. Anyway, I finally caved and began to keep a food journal. I write everything I eat in it, the time, how many calories, and such. I must tell you that it has been an eye opening experience. The first few days I was in shock at how much crap I eat and that I drink very little water. The last ten days have been something of a reformation, or maybe we better call it a heightened awareness. I have been doing lots better with my fruits and veggies, have been drinking more water, and lost three pounds. It's enough motivation for me to keep it up. Plus my gym friend has started wearing her shorts again, so now I have some peer pressure. I still eat cookies (whole wheat choc chip cookie=138 cals) but at least I'm not blowing it all day long.
Bruce is out of town for a few days, so I have my movie line-up all ready for the nights after the girls go to bed- Bourne Identity, Supremacy, and Ultimatum. Good times. My other movie obsession is "Once." It's an Irish film, and I don't suggest that you watch it unless your daily quota for hearing profanity is over 100 incidences per day. It is an Irish film, after all. However, that aside, it is a very good movie, and the soundtrack is great. It has been playing non-stop in my car for two weeks. Even Kate will say, "Turn it up!!" and then sing along.

I'm beginning to think we have way more in common than we ever would have known!

Good work on the food diary. Jason does that, but I'm way too overwhelmed by the thought of writing down what I eat. There's just soooo much. Oh man, what if anyone ever SAW that diary?! I would die.

I am very interested in the cookie recipe, though... And how has the Bourne marathon treated you? I love those movies.
