I'm Gonna Take You Out Behind My Minty Green Wood Shed

Bruce has been wanting to paint our shed out back for some time. I've been the hold-up and have been failing to choose a color for weeks now. I knew I wanted sage green with black trim, and so today I pulled a swatch out of the stack Bruce had brought home and said, "I'm sure this one will be fine." We were headed to Walmart anyway, so although the swatch I chose came from Home Depot, we were certain they could match it, and the man at the paint counter said the same. We happily purchased our paint and headed home, where Bruce began painting almost immediately.

My piano recital was starting as he painted, so it wasn't until 45 minutes later that I came outside. "What do you think?" Bruce asked. "Looks minty," I replied. "Maybe the black trim will help," he said. "Maybe the black trim will just make it look like a big Andes Candy," I wondered aloud.

Generally speaking, "I'm going to take you out behind the woodshed," should inspire fear and parental awe. I worry that our minty green shed lacks the gravitas to be threatening, and instead will make our threats seem somewhat empty, more along the lines of, "If you don't shape up, I'm going to take you out behind Santa's Workshop!"

Your shed makes me happy. Andes mints are my favorite. During my tween years, I proudly proclaimed to anyone who would ask that mint green was my favorite color.

Minty fresh!

Maybe if you hung some scary farm implements out there or something? :) Just kidding! It looks great!
