Kate's first official field trip of the year was on Friday. I volunteered to drive, mainly to alleviate those "first field trip jitters" on Kate's part. We went to an apple orchard and the Alpine Fire Station (It is "A" week).
"Who has been to an orchard before?" Mrs. B. asked.
"I live in an orchard," replied Kate, the small note of disdain not to be missed.
The other kids timidly picked an apple or two, and Kate singlehandedly filled the rest of the bag. I should be ashamed to admit that she is an expert fruit picker.

The firemen were very tolerant. We talked about safety and then they showed the kids the ambulance, the fire truck, and their uniforms. One guy had a white hood to go under his helmet. The other guy had a black hood, "like a ninja!" he exclaimed, attempting to relate at a pre-school level. "I've never seen a fat ninja," replied a little boy.
When Bruce got home, Kate showed him that she could stop, drop, and roll. She has been well educated, and she can take that advice until she starts dating.

Stop, drop and roll...hum, maybe that fireman knew you in college? Look familiar did he?
You mentioned it first. I just couldn't help but get a little chuckle out of that one.
"Do as I say, not as I do..."
ha.ha.ha.ha.
