Love What We've Done With the Place?

Sewer construction started yesterday. Things are looking REAL GOOD. Read that in a sarcastic voice in your head to know how I meant it. The picture above was taken when things were still looking okay.
Farewell, Japanese Maple. You were a beautiful tree gracing my front porch, but no longer. Tell your friend the rooted up pear tree I'm going to miss her too.

The front yard is dirt, piles of dirt, and more dirt. And also a giant, deep trench. However, on the bright side, our septic was definitely on its last stinky gasp. This is one project that was done in the nick of time. Sure hurts the wallet though.

Just to let you know I haven't forgotten about our little project. I'll try and follow up with you on Monday. AND I just wanted to make sure you and your brothers & sister got the invite to our family gather at 11:00 on July 4th with an added bonus of Leanne's baby shower. Of course, this all takes place after the great Henefer race!

I am so sorry about your front yard. Bright side-shopping for new plants and trees.

Wow. I really hope this solves your flooding issues once and for all. Sure seems like this justifies a rate increase for your Bed & Breakfast.

One word: Empathy! I so remember the Manila septic/sewer woes as a child, but I can't even imagine how they must feel as an adult. :(
