Bruce and I signed up for a 10 mile race in a couple of Saturdays. I knew I needed to run some longer distances this week so I could be ready, and this morning I ran 7.5 miles! That's far for me. And I ran the whole time, except for having to pee twice.
I called Liza for some hydration tips since I don't want to have to take any potty breaks during the real race. It reminded me of a little story about Liza...
A couple of summers ago, I ran a 5 mile race and Liza ran a half-marathon on the same morning. "We can just carpool," she said. "I won't be that far behind you." Which was true, since I ran 5 miles in 54 minutes and she ran 13.1 in an hour and a half. At any rate, she had to stop to pee and consequently lost second place and had to settle for third. My dad and I teased her and teased her- "Real runners just pee their pants, Liza..." "You mean that lady beat you just because she could hold it?" But Liza had the ultimate comeback- "You're crazy. These Sauconys are NEW." Like the only thing holding her back from running in urine-soaked shoes was that they were a recent purchase.
The only thing holding ME back from running in urine soaked shoes was that I was at home on my treadmill, so it seemed a little unnecessary. But I'm proud of myself- I feel like I accomplished something today.

Great job! I'm trying to find out a bit more info about Henefer(like registration) so I'll let you know when I do. I think Lyndz is going to run it too. Then we can have a cousin picture and EVERYONE can post it one their blogs! How cool are we?
Rock a little?? You rock a lot!!!
Way to go! (Pun intended)
Impressive!
I'm so proud of your running endeavors. I was planning to run a 1/2 marathon next weekend. That is until I ended up getting really lazy and not training at all for about 4 weeks while my jogger had 3 flat tires. Now I'm back to a measly 2 miles or so, and it hurts my body. A lot. No races for me. So I'm really proud of you. It feels so good to be able to run that far. I hope I can get there again someday. Thank you for inspiring me! You and my sister, Jaime, the runners! Oh, also yesterday on my little jog I saw a girl about my age, probably also a mom, with one of those super long-distance hydration fanny pack systems around her waist, and I was really envious. I wanted to be her. I want to have need of a hydration system for distances longer than just down to the store for a donut. :)
And by the way, before I ran the Ogden 1/2 I had only run about 7.5 miles, so you might as well do a half next. :) You could rock it fo shizzle.
