A Personal Mini Vay-Cay

I wanted to drive the route for the race I'm doing next Saturday, which involved going up Provo Canyon 10 miles. It's pointless to drive all that way up the canyon and not go just a little bit farther to get a little lunch at Granny's in Heber. Jack and Porter were game, of course.

Kate's hair is a little wild, but it's summer.
Kiki had her first encounter with an onion ring, and it was GOOD.

Fry sauce: also GOOD.

After lunch we went across the street to let the kids play in the park.
The big slide didn't scare Kiki at all. They went down it again and again and again. Enlarge the picture below and gasp at the awesomeness of Kiki's calves.

If you want to know how Kiki's verbal skills are coming along, Porter can sum it up for you. After listening to her talk for a moment he said, "Her speaks Chinese."

I love Granny's. I hope you treated yourself to a shake. You deserve it after your l-o-n-g run.

We thought that Carly must be speaking Mandrin. When my cousin came home from his mission we asked him to translate-no such luck.
Awesome calves!!

I knew it! Genius really does run in the family! I just want to know how you pulled off a bi-lingual child with two uni-lingual parents... (Sorry about the basement - bummer!!!)
