Happy Birthday, Mom!

My mom turned 43 this past Sunday! I know it is hard to believe because she looks SO MUCH YOUNGER. You can see the grandkids in the pictures above helping to blow out all six of her candles. I was ill-prepared on the candle front, and so it had to do. In a sidenote, the cake is an Oreo cake from Kohlers, and it is one of the best cakes you can get around here.

We were lucky enough to spend my mom's b-day with George's kids. They were in town for their Grandma's funeral, and they were such good sports to celebrate my mom's birthday with us. I don't know if they were in a celebrating kind of mood, but they certainly put on a brave face. We continued the celebration that night with a brutal game of croquet in the rain. I think it might become a tradition because we had fun and the competition was FIERCE.

Happy Birthday Mom! I love you.

We had the best time at your mom's b-day celebrations. It was nice to be celebrating during our sadness. Thanks for being the hostess with the mostest. Everything was delish. We will certainly have to play croquet again soon. Kate's on my team again. I like her moves.
