On the way home from Target today, Kate informed me that she is allergic to the following things:
1. Spiders
2. Baby wipes
3. Vaseline
4. Her own fingernails
That's quite a medical mystery.
While at Target, Kiki showed off her vocal prowess by screaming "Ma! Ma!" at the top of her lungs. What she lacks in vocabulary she makes up for in volume. She can shriek so loud it makes my ear drum hurt. She also started saying "Da," only the first time she said it she was pointing to a man with an axe (we were watching Charlotte's Web and not some slasher movie), and the second time she was pointing to a chicken. Apparently Bruce is a super-scary guy with chicken legs. Seems about right.
Kate has been hearing more than I've realized when I have been talking to Bruce at night. He's still out of town so we've been having our nightly phone calls. Today she was talking about how much she missed him, and she said, "I just didn't know it would be this hard." It was like a little echo of my own voice.
I have some pictures of Preston's birthday that I will post soon. His cake was amazing- it was a beach cake. It had blue frosting, and Kiki thought it was the most divine thing she'd ever eaten. Yesterday, when I was changing her diaper I noticed that her behind has been totally stained BLUE!

I love reading your blog, Becca. Either your life is way more interesting than mine, or you are just better at describing it. Actually, I think it is both.
Are you hanging in there with Bruce gone??? I'm thinking about you.
Kate and I have a lot in common. I have allergies too. I am sometimes allergic to work and chlorine. The latter has helped me escape many pool parties and hot tubbing experiences with weird people.
I love the stories about the girls. They can always make me laugh.
