Fall TV Review

It's a blissful time of year! Yes, the air is crisp, the leaves are changing, and who cares because I am sequestering myself inside the four walls of my home to watch season premier after season premier. And a few regular shows, a couple of reruns, and a finale or two.

The Best:
Pushing Daisies: A delightful show with smart dialogue, beautiful sets, and a sweet love story. Begin watching immediately.
Mad Men: If my previous entry re:my love of Mad Men didn't convince you, perhaps the recent Emmy win for Best Drama will. Richly deserved and riveting TV.
Chuck: Need to escape your life for a minute but don't want to think so hard? Chuck is for you.
Judge Judy: I have been a fan for years. There's nothing as satisfying as watching a show where someone (J. Judy) says all the things YOU say when you are screaming at the TV.
Root of All Evil: Which is the root of all evil? Scientology or Walt Disney? Baby Boomers or Gen X? PETA or the NRA? Strippers or Sorority Girls? Listen as comedians try to persuade the judge (Lewis Black) which is the root of all evil. Easily one of the funniest shows on TV...How often to you get to hear someone say, "The green movement wants me to wipe my behind with a squirrel."?
Biggest Loser: Other than Judge Judy, this is the best reality show on TV. Although I will say the slip-n-slide challenge seemed a little more humiliating than it needed to be.

I still like to catch:
Colbert Report, The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, My House is Worth What?, Project Runway, Babies: Special Delivery, The Soup, The Office, Intervention,

I'm about to delete the DVR timer for:
(SPOILER ALERT IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE PREMIER YET)
Grey's Anatomy: Callie and Hahn are novice lesbians? Lexi loves George? Meredith is STILL waffling about Derek? A brash Army Doctor changes the dynamic? An ICICLE hits someone in the gut? I am not ready to give up, but the rats are jumping ship and swimming for land, and I find myself wondering if I, too, should take the leap off board.
Extreme Makeover: Home Edition: Don't get me wrong, I think most of the people on this show deserve a few lucky breaks- they are sick, or have had a loss, and all have had financial hardships. However, I find myself wondering if they are really being helped by being saddled with a house that is going to quadruple their utilites and property taxes. I inevitably turn off the TV wondering how long it will take until their dream house is foreclosed on. I'm a pessismist.

If You Are Watching These Shows We are Not Friends Anymore:
Two and a half Men, anything with Paris Hilton in it, Criss Angel Mind Freak, Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

I'm disappointed. You didn't even mention my favorite show...Dancing with the Stars. We've got to get rid of Cloris however. I just hope I'm that active when I'm 82 though.

Amen...I can't stand any of those shows either. I'm glad Kardashian got booted off Dancing!!!
Anyone like heroes? It's what floats my boat these days.

I don't agree with my mother DWTS is old news.
The Office? Thumbs up.
Grey's Anatomy? I'm almost no longer a fan. I really only turn it on to see hot men. I think if we muted it, we might be bigger fans of the show. I can't figure out why everyone falls in love with George..he's not cute, he's kind of a pussy, and he studders. Why not fall in love with the hot guys?! Seriously.

I'm alone here and I haven't time to catch all those shows. I like dancing with the stars too. Can you imagine your grandma on dancing with the stars. On always afraid cloris will have a heart attach. I am going to watch a couple that youv'e mentioned though. Happy watching everybody.
